HOUSTON, JAN. 21, 2015 – It was just another business trip for the USF women's basketball team Wednesday, matter-of-factly collecting its sixth conference win in the only meeting of the season with Houston.

The Bulls (15-4 overall, 6-1 The American) used a season-high seven assists from junior guard Shalethia Stringfield to roll past the Cougars 71-55 Wednesday night on the American Digital Network, out-shooting Houston .526-.361 and out-rebounding their opponent for the 14th time this season.

Dropping out of the rankings a day earlier following a loss to No. 2/2 UConn, the Bulls jumped out early on the Cougars with an 8-0 run early in the half. Building a 30-23 lead by halftime with help from 11 points from junior guard Courtney Williams, USF's streak of days since its last two-game losing streak looked safe to extend to (and beyond) 389.

The Bulls made sure of it in the second half, getting 15 second-half points from junior forward Alisia Jenkins and 13 more from Williams to balloon their lead to as much as 25 against the Cougars to put the game out of reach with 12 minutes remaining.

Houston knocked down three 3-pointers in the final three minutes, outscoring USF 11-2 to close the gap at the buzzer.

Williams recorded her fourth consecutive 20-point game and ninth of the season, scoring 24 for the Bulls along with six rebounds, four assists and a career-high tying six steals, while Jenkins picked up her 12th double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 rebounds.

USF returns home Sunday to face Tulane at 4 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
