USF Women’s Basketball Signs Two-Time Big South First Team All-Conference Selection Amourie Porter

TAMPA, Fla. (April 27, 2026) – The South Florida women's basketball team signed two-time Big South First Team All-Conference selection Amourie Porter, head coach Kristy Curry announced on Monday.
 
"We are so excited to welcome Amourie to our Bulls family! She is a two-time Big South First Team selection who has put together an extremely impressive résumé over her three-year college career," Curry said. "Amourie has a natural ability to score at a high level, and she also brings toughness, versatility, and a great motor every time she steps on the floor. She has proven she can make a major impact and brings valuable experience to our program. We are thrilled to welcome her to Tampa Bay's Home for Hoops!"
 
Porter is a 5-foot-10 guard from Glen Burnie, Md., who has one year of eligibility remaining. She earned Big South First Team All-Conference honors in each of the past two seasons at Winthrop.
 
As a junior in 2025-26 at Winthrop, Porter averaged 16.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. She led the team and ranked among the top 5 in the Big South in points per game, rebounds per game, field goal percentage (.452), and free throw percentage (.764). She logged 26 double-digit scoring performances, including nine with 20+ points and seven double-doubles.
 
Porter scored a career-high 27 points on 9-of-16 shooting and 9-of-10 from the line and grabbed 12 rebounds against Longwood. She recorded 16 points and a career-high 15 rebounds at Chicago State.
 
As a sophomore in 2024-25, Porter averaged 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. She led the team in points per game, rebounds per game, three-point percentage (.393), and free throw percentage (.890). Porter led the Big South in free throw percentage and ranked fourth in points per game. The guard had 21 double-digit scoring performances and a pair of games with 20 or more points.
 
Porter registered season-highs of 25 points and 12 rebounds against Radford. She recorded career-highs in assists (7) and steals (5), along with 11 points and five rebounds against UNC Asheville.
 
As a freshman at CSU Bakersfield in 2023-24, Porter appeared in 29 games with 13 starts, averaging 6.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. She ranked second on the team with 126 rebounds.
 
The guard logged six double-digit scoring performances, including a season-high 24 points at Cal Poly. She also recorded a double-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and a career-high five steals against Long Beach State.
 
In high school, Porter helped transform the Glen Burnie program, leading it from just one win the year before to becoming 4A State Champions, the first in the program's history. She averaged a double-double during her senior year with 19.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.4 steals per game. Porter was a McDonald's All-American nominee and was named the Capital Gazette Player of the Year.
