TAMPA (March 29, 2015) – The nail-biting match came down to court four as Ignacio Gonzalez-Muniz set himself up for a comeback victory to earn the Bulls (13-5) an American Athletic Conference win over Tulsa (15-9).
Gonzalez-Muniz' valiant efforts brought him back from a first set loss to force a third frame but he was unable to overcome Tulsa's Juan Matias Gonzalez who clinched the match for the Hurricane, 4-3.
Oliver Pramming widened the margin with the first singles win for the Bulls, but Tulsa answered back with the decision on court five.
Vadym Kalyuzhnyy upped the Bulls score to three but no less than a minute later, Tulsa's Or Ram-Harel took court one to even up the score for a second time.
USF took the lead early on, clinching the doubles point as Pramming and Justin Roberts nearly blanked Tulsa on court one, 6-1. The Bulls started off behind on courts two and three but the Sasha Gozun- Kalyuzhnny duo came away with the 6-4 win while the pair of Roberto Cid and Gonzalez-Muniz were even at four games apiece.
USF heads west this weekend as the Bulls take on SMU in Dallas on Friday and TCU in Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday.
