Box Score TULSA (Oct. 30, 2016)— In a win or go home situation, the USF women's soccer team gutted out an impressive 3-2 victory over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to earn the final spot in the conference tournament.
With just six teams advancing to the tournament, the Bulls (12-3-2, 4-3-2) and Hurricane (8-10-1, 4-5) were fighting for the final spot Sunday afternoon. With a final total of 14 points, USF clinched the last spot and will be the fourth sseed, facing Cincinnati in the first round.
The scoring got started early as the Bulls netted two goals in the first four minutes of play. Freshman Andrea Hauksdottir scored the first goal for USF on a combo assist from Trudi Carter and Yasmine Hall. Hauksdottir earned her fifth goal of the year on a shot from 18 yards out.
Viens scored the Bulls second goal just one minute later, on a pass from Carter. Viens found the back of the net on shot from 15 yards out. Her second goal of the game and the record-tying goal came in the 51st minute. Viens dribbled around the Tulsa defense and took a shot from 25 yards out to make it a 3-1 game.
Tulsa's Alyssa Kaiser would put the Golden Hurricane on the board in the sixth minute off a rebound. In the 80th minute, Rachel Thun would take a shot from 12 yards out, slotting the ball out of the diving reach of Kat Elliott to make it a one-goal game.

- USF started the game 6-for-6 on shots on goal and finished with 17 shots, 11 on goal.
Notables:
- Jordyn Listro set the school record for games played with her 80th career game.
- Evelyne Viens tied the school record for goals in a season with her 16th of the year.
- Viens led all players with six shots on the day and four on goal.
- UConn won the regular season title and will host the conference tournament. Memphis, SMU, Cincinnati and UCF were the other four to advance.

The Bulls also return 10 players who appeared in at least 15 or more games last season.
