COLLEGE STATION, Texas (Feb. 7, 2016)—A hard fought battle against the No. 3 team in the nation resulted in a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Texas A&M for the No. 13 USF men's tennis team. The loss is the first of the season for the Bulls, dropping them to 3-1 on the season.

USF picked up wins from No. 17 Roberto Cid, senior Dominic Cotrone and sophomore Peter Bertran. Bertran picked up his second win of the weekend, defeating Max Lunkin, 6-1, 0-6, 6-2, in the No. 5 position.

Cid (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) completed a comeback against No. 5 Arthur Rinderknech, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2. Cid has taken down three Top 25 opponents this year to bring his overall record to 4-0. Cotrone (Bradenton, Fla.) also battled back in his match against No. 29 Shane Vinsant, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, in the No. 2 slot.

Though USF dropped the doubles point, Cotrone and partner Justin Roberts (Nassau, Bahamas) defeated Harrison Adams and Vinsant, 6-3, to improve to 3-1 as a pair on the season.

Up next for the Bulls is a trip to Charlottesville, Va. to compete in the 2016 ITA Division I National Men's Team Indoor Championship, Feb. 12-15.
