PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Sept. 12, 2016)— A trio of USF women's soccer players took home conference accolades Monday afternoon. Evelyne Viens earned her second offensive player of the week honor while Kat Elliott was named goalkeeper of the week. Gudrun Sigurdardottir was named to the weekly honor roll.
Viens netted four goals and tallied one assist in two games over the weekend. Against Jacksonville, she scored a hat trick for USF, the first in 10 years. The hat trick was the 10th all-time at USF and was the third ever scored against Jacksonville. On the road Sunday, she tallied an assist on the game winning goal before netting a goal of her own to give USF a 2-0 win over Georgia Southern. Viens took just five shots all weekend and scored on four of the five shots as all were on goal.
Elliott recorded a pair of shutouts on the weekend to stay undefeated in goal. In 45 minutes of work against Jacksonville, she tallied one save to post a shutout first half. Against Georgia Southern, she played the full 90 minutes, recording four saves for her second solo shutout of the season and fifth overall.
Sigurdardottir netted her first career goal while tallying a pair of assists to help lead USF to a 2-0 weekend. During Friday's rout of Jacksonville, Sigurdardottir recorded two assists on a pair of goals by Viens. Sigurdardottir had the assist on the goal that gave Viens a hat trick for the game. On Sunday, Sigurdardottir netted the game winning goal for USF in the 24th minute.

USF returns 17 players from last year's roster, including All-American Athletic Conference second-team goalkeeper Kat Elliott and seniors Lotta Fennefoss, Jordyn Listro and Leticia Skeete. The Bulls also return 10 players who appeared in at least 15 or more games last season.
