Box Score TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 8, 2016)— It had been ten years since USF women's soccer fans had seen a hat trick, the last coming against South Alabama in August of 2006.
Then, Evelyne Viens joined the Bulls.
The freshman out of Quebec, Canada doubled her career goal total in a historic night, netting three goals to lead the Bulls in a 6-0 rout of Jacksonville (2-4-0).
The Bulls (6-0-0) came out aggressive, netting five goals in the first half of play. Viens netted a pair in the seventh and 24th minutes for her fourth and fifth goals of the year.
Seniors Leticia Skeete and Trudi Carter each got in on the scoring action, with Skeete notching her fourth goal of the year in the 11th minute. Carter converted the Bulls third penalty kick of the season in the 21st minute for her second of the year.
Wrapping up the first half of play, freshman Aubrey Megrath scored her first goal of the year on an assist from senior Jessica Clark with just five minutes left in the first 45 minutes.
Viens' hat trick came in the 54th minute on an assist from Gudrun Sigurdardottir. The freshman now has six goals on the year to lead the team.
