Bulls Surpass Stetson in 7-0 Sweep
RECAP: The USF women's tennis team (3-3) posted a 7-0 victory over Stetson.
TAMPA (Feb. 11, 2017) – On a beautiful, sunny day at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts, the Bulls took a 7-0 victory over the Stetson Hatters.
USF took an early lead with the doubles point, and carried that into first-set wins on every court. Ana Roman-Dominguez made quick work of Stetson's Arijana Korac, posting the first singles point for the Bulls, 6-2, 6-1. Nicole Dzenga followed suit, notching a 6-2, 6-2 victory to help the Bulls pull away. Jessica Cortes-Chaves clinched the match in the No. 5 spot, going 6-1, 6-3 against Hatter Alexe Viaud.
In doubles, the Bulls were tight matched against the Hatters. On court three, seniors Hailey Grillo and Vera Bessonova played strong, not allowing a single point from Stetson. The Hatters answered with a win on court two, 6-1, to tie up doubles play.
Fans were left with a nail-biter, watching Juliana Cardoso and Olga Martinez come back to tie, and ultimately surpass, Arijana Korac and Maja Salibasic in a 6-4 win to claim the doubles point for the Bulls.

· Five out of six singles matches went in straight sets.
· This is the Bulls' second shutout of the season.
