Bulls Take Game Two in War on I-4, 7-2

ORLANDO, FLA. (April 13, 2017)— Two multiple-run innings would lead the USF Softball team to a 7-1 victory over UCF, securing a pair of points in the War on I-4 battle.

A two-out rally in the second led to three runs on the scoreboard for the Bulls (26-20, 5-5 American). Lindsey Devitt reached on a fielder's choice and moved to third on a Morgan Gross double. AnaMarie Bruni walked to load the bases before Kristen Wyckoff drove everyone in on her third triple of the season.

In the top of the sixth, the Bulls plated four runs to extend their lead. Two singles and walk pushed across the first run of the inning, before Hannah Parker plated a pair with an RBI double. Astin Donovan would use a sacrifice fly to plate a run, making it 7-1 in the sixth inning.

UCF (22-19, 6-5 American) would tack on a run in the bottom of the fifth, using an RBI fielder's choice form Megan Greenwell. In the seventh, an RBI single by Cassady Brewer would make it 7-2.

KEY STATS
-Bethaney Keen went 3-for-4 at the plate. It was just the second time this season she's had a three-hit game.
-Kristen Wyckoff drove in three runs to lead the team with her team-leading third triple of the season.
-Cheyenne Eggens picked up the win, scattering seven hits across 5.2 innings, allowing just two runs.

NOTABLES
-The Bulls turned their 22nd double play of the season.
-This is the third year in a row that USF and UCF have split the first two games of the series.
-Seven runs is the most allowed by UCF in the last three years of the series.
