TAMPA (December 18, 2022) – The University of South Florida Bulls continue a three-game homestand and seek their fourth straight win on Monday against the Hofstra Pride. South Florida has won five of its last six games overall.

The three-game homestand wraps up on Thursday against NJIT and will mark the end of non-conference play.

The Bulls and Pride have met twice before, both resulting in USF wins. The teams first met in 2001 and last met in 2014 – a 71-70 USF win in Tampa.

Hofstra enters the week on a three-game losing streak opposite the Bulls' three-game winning streak. The Pride most recently lost to UMass, 71-56, on Sunday December 11. UMass also defeated USF earlier this year, 73-67.

A four-game win streak for USF would mark the Bulls' longest since December 2-16, 2020.

Hofstra guard Aaron Estrada enters Monday ranked ninth in the NCAA in points per game (21.7). At Northern Iowa last week, Tyler Harris and the Bulls limited another top 15 scorer to just four points and one field goal in a road win.

Along with his defensive efforts, Harris continues to pace the USF offense (14.6 ppg). Selton Miguel is averaging 11.6 points followed by Russel Tchewa's 9.9 points to go along with a team-best 6.6 rebounds per game. Miguel has dished out a team-high 37 assists.

About USF Men's Basketball

The USF men's basketball team is led by head coach Brian Gregory, who enters his sixth season in 2022-23. Gregory was introduced as the 10th head coach in program history in March of 2017 after previously leading programs at Georgia Tech (2011-16) and Dayton (2003-11). Gregory spent nearly a decade as an assistant coach under Michigan State's Hall of Fame head coach Tom Izzo and helped the Spartans win the 2000 NCAA National Championship. Gregory owns over 300 career head coaching wins and six postseason appearances, including the 2010 NIT Championship with Dayton. In his second season at the helm of the Bulls, Gregory led the team to the best win turnaround in the NCAA, the most single-season wins in school history and the 2019 College Basketball Invitational championship.

USF has retired three numbers in its history: Chucky Atkins (12), Charlie Bradley (30) and Radenko Dobras (31). The Bulls have earned three NCAA tournament bids, appeared in the NIT eight times and won the 2019 College Basketball Invitational.
