SETTING THE STAGE
South Florida has won two of its last five contests and is on the hunt for their second conference win in four conference games. UAB is still searching for their first win of the season.
Jalen Anderson leads the team with six goals, accompanied by
Ajmeer Spengler, who leads the team with six assists. For UAB, this will be their final road conference game of the season.
SOUTH FLORIDA-UAB SERIES
USF has won 11 of 17 all-time meetings against UAB, which extends back to the 1983 season. The Bulls are looking to stay undefeated (3-0-1) in five straight home pairings with the Blazers. In the last meeting, South Florida tied with UAB, 2-2 at home (Oct. 5, 2022), the first and only tie in the series.
LAST TIME OUT
South Florida rallied together late to knock off Stetson on Tuesday (Oct. 17), 3-2 in Deland, their ninth win in ten tries there. The Bulls got down early, allowing two Hatters goals simultaneously back-to-back in the 23:20 (Luis Lara, 9) and 26:25 (Andres Mata, 6) minutes of the contest. However, Jeffery Cooper would inch back closer for the Green & Gold, scoring a responding goal moments later, his first of the season. The final 45 would bring out a different look for USF, beating out Stetson in shots (6-4). The Bulls would capitalize on two unanswered goals late in the segment, one coming from
Marco Astorga, his first of the season, and the go-ahead score from
Jalen Anderson, his sixth of the season, leading the team in goals and to victory against the Hatters.
SCOUTING THE BLAZERS
Isaac Calderon and Humphrey Doh both lead the Blazers in goals with two each, followed by seven players who have one goal. Goalkeeper Jack Hudson has started in 10 of UAB's 13 games played this season, only allowing 2.45 goals on average so far this year.
