Tampa, Fla. Nov. 10, 2023 – Sophomore wing
Carla Brito posted a season-high 20-point and 11-rebound performance in South Florida women's basketball's (2-0), 67-55, win versus Stetson (0-2) on Friday afternoon at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla.
Â
Senior guard
Maria Alvarez (18 points) finished the night with five boards and was the only Bull to join Brito in double-digits. Fourteen of Alvarez's 18 points came in the first half of action. Senior guard
Aerial Wilson lent a helping hand with a game-high six assists.
Â
COACH FERNANDEZ SAID
"I have to give Stetson a lot of credit," said head coach
Jose Fernandez. "They came in here and played hard. Our team is still learning a lot about each other. I thought that between our first game and now we had two really good practices and a really good shoot around. We tried to play some different lineups and different guys and that caused us to lose our flow in the second quarter."
