Tampa, Fla. (November 13, 2023) – The University of South Florida women's tennis team concluded the Fall portion of its 2023-24 schedule on Sunday as the Bulls competed at the UNF Invite on November 10-12.
Melisa Senli, Kelly Vargas, Marta Falceto Font and Ireland Simme each picked up singles wins as the event began on Friday. Senli was a 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 winner over Zoe Hammond of Kentucky, Vargas defeated Ana Carmen Zamburek of Nebraska by a score of 7-5, 6-3, Falceto Font rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Maialen Morante of Kentucky and Simme took down Michaela Hegarty of Virgina Tech 6-2, 6-4.
In doubles play on Friday, Nadja Bay Christians and Grace Schumacher were 6-0 winners of Indiana while Falceto Font and Senli defeated Nebraska by a score of 6-4. Bay Christians and Schumacher continued their winning ways against UNC Charlotte on Saturday, 6-2, and Falceto Font and Senli posted a 6-3 doubles win over Virginia Tech.
Schumacher, Vargas, Simme, Bay Christians and Gargi Pawar each concluded action on Sunday with victories. Schumacher picked up a singles victory on over Isabel Adrover Gallego of Nebraska by scores of 6-1, 5-7, 6-1, Vargas notched a 6-3, 6-3 win over Indiana's Sarah L'allier, Pawar was a 6-1, 7-6 winner over Jullia Roa of Nebraska, Simme took down Stetson's Clelia Lombardi, 6-2, 6-1 and Bay Chrsitians posted a 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Elizabeth Stevens of Kentucky.

Head coach Cristina Moros, a former collegiate national champion and four-time All-American, is in her ninth year at the helm entering the 2023-24 season. She was named the 2017 AAC Coach of the Year after leading the Bulls to the conference championship that season.
