Tampa, Fla. (March 10, 2023) – The Bulls defeated VCU 6-1 on their first day of the back-to-back.
VCU started the day at a massive disadvantage, forfeiting court three in doubles and putting USF just one court win away from taking the doubles point.
Sierra Berry and
Grace Schumacher took advantage of the situation, securing a convincing 6-1 win on court one to give the Bulls the point.
In singles, The Rams took another significant hit to their chances, forfeiting court six and giving the Bulls an early 2-0 lead.
VCU responded with a win on court three, however USF proved to be just too much to handle on the day.
Berry took court one 6-3, 6-2, defeating VCU's Victoria Smirnova.
Marta Falceto Font followed with a 6-4, 6-3 win on court five to give USF its match-clinching fourth point.
After clinching the win, action continued on courts two and four, with Schumacher competing on court two and
Ireland Simme competing on court four.
A 7-6, 6-2 win by Simme gave the Bulls their fifth point of the day, and then a 6-7, 7-5, 6-0 win by Schumacher gave South Florida one last point.

The Bulls are right back in action tomorrow at 11 to take on UNF.
