TAMPA (March 16, 2023) – The University of South Florida Bulls wrap up a five-game homestand with a three-game series against Army on Salute to Service Weekend in Tampa. Friday will feature a military vehicle display and the first 300 fans will receive a mini bat. On Saturday, the first 500 fans will receive a fanny pack and on Sunday, the first 250 fans will receive a dog tag.

South Florida is coming off a midweek split with Dartmouth while Army has not played since last weekend after having its midweek game postponed due to snow.

Bobby Boser missed the series against Dartmouth due to an injury and is considered day-to-day. Boser leads USF with a .340 batting average. John Montes is batting .339 and has hit safely in 10 of his last 13 games (seven multi-hit games). Drew Brutcher enters the weekend riding a 14-game streak of reaching base safely. Freshman Eric Snow and sophomore Jackson Mayo share the team lead with 11 RBI.

All 20 previous meetings between the Bulls and Black Knights have been played in Tampa. USF has won four straight, most recently a three-game sweep in 2018.

The USF Baseball program played its first season in 1966 and is entering its 58th season in 2023 under head coach Billy Mohl (sixth season). The Bulls have made 14 NCAA Tournament appearances, including four since 2015, and earned their first-ever Super Regional berth in 2021. Former 2018 first-round selection, Shane McClanahan, became the program's first-ever MLB All-Star in 2022 and was the starting pitcher for the American League.
