COLLEGE STATION, Tx. (Mar. 6, 2023) – The No. 57 USF men's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 49 Texas A&M on Monday afternoon in College Station, Texas.

In doubles, court three had Thomas Pavlekovich-Smith and Samuel Frizelle against Giulio Perego and Raphael Perot. Despite starting the match off with 2-1 lead, the Aggies eventually claimed the court 6-2.

Court one finished next. Bruno Oliveira and Davide Tortora went back and forth with their opponents. The score finally split, allowing Trey Hilderbrand and Noah Schacter to claim their set 7-5 and win the doubles point.

Entering singles down 0-1, there was a lot to be done.

Despite moments of promise, the Bulls came up short in securing a court in singles. Alvin Tudorica, Erik Grevelius and Pavlekovich-Smith dropped their courts in two sets- allowing the Aggies to claim the match early.

On court four, Oliveira would also drop his match in two sets despite having command over much of the first set.

On court one, Tortora would come from behind to secure a first set win, 6-3. However, his efforts would be challenged. In set two, his opponent No. 63 Noah Schachter balanced the scales with a 4-6 win. Schacter would go on to put away the match in a tiebreak, 10-5.

Elijah Cham on court five recovered from a 3-6 first-set defeat. In the second set, he would outlast his opponent, No. 105 Pierce Rollins, to win 7-6(7-5). Similarly to Tortora on court one, Cham would not be able to win his court in the tiebreak.
