TAMPA (April 19, 2023) – The University of South Florida men's tennis team is seeded sixth in this week's American Athletic Conference Tournament and will face third-seeded Central Florida on Friday at noon at the USTA National Campus in Orlando. The winner will play the winner of the match between No. 2-seeded Tulane and No. 7-seeded Wichita State on Saturday at noon.
 
The most dominant team in AAC Tournament play since the conference's inception in 2014, the Bulls have won five of the previous eight championships in the event, including four straight from 2014-17, but are looking for their first since the 2019 season when they last lifted the trophy. All-time in the event, the Green and Gold are an impressive 20-3. In addition, the Bulls appeared in two other championship finals in 2018 and 2021.

South Florida comes into the tournament having won five of its last eight and eight of its last 12 matches, however, one of the four losses came at the hands of Central Florida, 4-3, on April 7 in Tampa.
 
In singles, Alvin Tudorica is one of three players that have won double-digit matches this season, boasting a 13-11 record and is 7-5 in his last 12 outings. He is an impressive 1-5 on court three for the Bulls.
 
Joining Tudorica with 10-plus wins is Bruno Oliveira with an 11-5 record – 10-7 on court four and 1-1 on court five – and Davide Tortota with a 10-9 record, including a 10-9 record on court one.
 
On the doubles side, the No. 87-ranked tandem of Erik Grevelius and Tudorica – one of just three duos nationally ranked in The American – boast a team-high nine wins in doubles (9-2) which includes a stellar 7-2 mark on court two and a perfect 2-0 record on court one.
 
Oliveira and Tortora have six doubles wins on the year with five of the six coming on court one.
