TAMPA (September 25, 2023) – The University of South Florida men's tennis team opened its 2023-24 season at the Fall Chowderfest hosted by Harvard in Cambridge, Mass. The three-day event saw the South Florida Bulls compete against the University of San Diego, Cornell and Harvard.
South Florida began play on Friday against San Diego as the team of Agustin Cuellar and Tom Pisane earned a doubles win. Erik Grevelius, Bruno Oliveira and Ben Hudson each picked up singles victories over San Diego.
On Saturday, the Bulls faced off against Cornell. No. 24 Erik Grevelius and Alvin Tudorica turned in a 6-4 doubles win after the pair dropped a highly-competitive 7-6 (4) decision to San Diego the day prior. The teams of Tom Pavlekovich-Smith and Bruno Oliveira along with Sam Frizelle and Ben Hudson also notched wins over Cornell in tandem play.
Tudorica, Grevelius, Pavlekovich-Smith, Frizelle and Hudson each earned victories in singles action on Saturday facing off against competition from Harvard, Cornell and Tufts.
The Bulls wrapped up play on Sunday against host Harvard. Pavelkovich-Smith and Oliveira highlighted doubles with a 6-3 victory. Grevelius earned a comeback victory in singles play while Pavelkovich-Smith, and Pisane each turned in wins on their courts.

He was named the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2017 & 2019 after leading USF to the conference title in each of those seasons.
