Tampa, Fla. Jan. 27, 2024 – South Florida women's basketball (11-9, 3-4) hosts East Carolina (11-7, 4-3) inside the Yuengling Center on Sunday for Alumni Day. Tipoff is slated for noon and the game will air live on ESPNU.
 
 
SETTING THE STAGE
The Bulls are looking for their third win to close out the month of January.
 
The Pirates are currently on a two-game hot streak after a 78-74 win at Florida Atlantic on Thursday night.
 
THE SOUTH FLORIDA-EAST CAROLINA SERIES
Sunday afternoon's meeting will be the 21st meeting between the two squads and the series spans back to the 1984-85 season. The Bulls hold a 13-7 all-time record against the Pirates and South Florida is riding an 11-game win streak against East Carolina. The most recent meeting was a 72-48 Bulls win on Jan. 31, 2023.
 
LAST TIME OUT
South Florida fell, 65-61, to North Texas at home on Saturday night. Redshirt junior forward Romi Levy led all scorers with 27 points, which marked her third game of 20 or more points this season. Sophomore wing Carla Brito (9 points) matched a career-best 11 rebounds and a personal-best five assists.
 
BULL LEADERS
South Florida is led by freshman guard Vittoria Blasigh (15.0 ppg). Blasigh (56 3PM) is ranked 11th nationally in total 3-pointers made. Redshirt junior forward Romi Levy (11.8 ppg) is the second Bull averaging double-digit points. Senior forward Evelien Lutje Schipholt leads on the glass with 7.1 rebounds per contest, which ranks 11th in the American. Redshirt senior guard Aerial Wilson dishes out a team-best 4.2 assists per contest. Wilson's 83 total assists ranks third in the American.
 
AAC BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS
For the fourth consecutive year, The American's Men's and Women's Basketball Championships will be contested at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Both Championships expand to 14 teams this season with The Women's Championship running March 9-13. Ticket packages for the Women's Championship will be $85 per package. In 2022-23, the Bulls had four players recognized by The American for impressive seasons, including Elena Tsineke (AAC Co-Player of the Year, All-Conference First Team), Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu (AAC Co-Player of the Year, All-Conference First Team), Sammie Puisis (AAC Newcomer of the Year, All-Conference Second Team) and Carla Brito (AAC All-Freshman Team).
