USF Women’s Basketball Signs Former Temple Guard Savannah Curry

TAMPA, Fla. (April 27, 2026) – The South Florida women's basketball team signed former Temple guard Savannah Curry, head coach Kristy Curry announced on Monday.
 
"We are so excited to welcome Savannah to our Bulls family! She was named to the American Conference All-Freshman Team and earned American Conference Honorable Mention in 2025-26, so she understands what it takes to compete in this league," Curry said. "She has great size on the perimeter, is an elite defender, and we feel she will be able to flourish in our offensive system. She has a winning background and tremendous upside, and we are thrilled to welcome her to Tampa Bay's Home for Hoops!"
 
Curry, a 6-foot guard from Fallston, Md., has two years of eligibility remaining. She was named to the 2024-25 American Conference All-Freshman Team.
 
As a sophomore in 2025-26 at Temple, Curry appeared in 28 games with 25 starts, averaging 7.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. She led the Owls in steals (54) and free throw percentage (.907) and logged eight double-digit scoring performances, including five during conference play.
 
Curry scored a career-high 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting and six rebounds at Charlotte (Feb. 17). She recorded 18 points with career-highs in rebounds (8) and assists (4) against East Carolina (Feb. 14). The guard also posted a career-high seven steals against VCU (Dec. 13) and recorded nine games with three or more steals.
 
During her freshman season, Curry played in all 32 games, averaging 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. She recorded a season-high 12 points and five rebounds, while shooting 5-of-8 from the field in 13 minutes at Georgetown (Nov. 19). The guard also registered a season-high four steals in the American Conference Tournament against Charlotte (March 10).
 
In high school, Curry was a McDonald's All-American nominee and averaged 16.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. She was a two-time state champion and was selected All-State and All-Conference twice. The guard was a 41% career three-point shooter and scored over 1,000 points.
