Maria Clara Andrade becomes the first University of South Florida volleyball player since 2010 to be named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region Team, while setter
Caroline Dykes was named an All-Region Honorable Mention, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Andrade, who was named the American Athletic Player of the Year, led the Bulls with 453 kills, 507 points, 4.69 points per set, and 4.19 kills per set. In conference play, she led the AAC in the sawm categories. She surpassed the 1,000-career mark against Florida Atlantic, finishing the season with 1,165 kills total in her career. Andrade had a double-digit kill streak of 21 matches during the season, stretching from September 12 to November 11. Andrade set a career-high of three solo blocks in the Bull's five-set win over North Texas. She was named the AAC Offensive Player of the Week twice. Andrade finished the season with seven double-doubles.
Dykes was named the American Athletic Setter of the Year after leading the conference with an average of 10.66 assists per set and 44 service aces. She became the 16th active DI setter to surpass the 4,000-assist mark in the Bulls sweep over Charlotte. Along with her 4,000 assists, Dykes surpassed 1,000 career digs and 100 career service aces this season. She was named the AAC Setter of the Week four times. Dykes finished the season with 11 double-doubles.
There are 14 All-Region team members and 6-8 honorable mention selections for each of the ten regions. Additionally, Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Coach of the Year were selected for the regions. The 211 student-athletes who made All-Region represent 108 different schools.

The AVCA, located in Lexington, Ky., is managed by Associations International. Head coach Jolene Shepardson enters her fifth season at the helm of her alma mater in 2024. Named head coach on January 8, 2020, Shepardson led the Bulls to a conference championship and the program's last NCAA tournament appearance as a student-athlete in 2002. South Florida won the AAC East Division title in 2023, made a postseason appearance in the NIVC, won three matches, and advanced to the Fab Four to mark the longest postseason run in program history. South Florida Volleyball has made seven NCAA Tournament appearances and won 12 conference titles since its inception in 1972. The Bulls play in The Corral (1,000), located adjacent to the Yuengling Center on the USF campus in Tampa.
