TAMPA, Fla. (December 20, 2024) – The University of South Florida men's basketball team remains at home for a matchup with East Texas A&M on Saturday. The Bulls and Lions are scheduled for a 3 p.m. tip on ESPN+.  
 
Saturday will be a doubleheader with the men's and women's teams. The first 1,500 fans will receive a USF ugly sweater style t-shirt.
 
Frees and 3s                                                  
The Bulls have recorded at least five made 3-pointers and 10 made free throws in all 11 games this season. It is their second-longest streak to start a campaign in the past 25 years (12 to start 2012-13). USF is one of 10 Division I teams to reach those marks in every game in 2024-25.

USF is tied for 73rd in the country and third in the AAC with a free-throw percentage of 74.9 percent.

The Bulls have held opponents to 31.0 percent from 3-point range. USF is tied for 107th in the NCAA and third in the AAC in 3-point defense.

Jayden Reid paces the team with 13.1 points per game. He has dished out a team-high 41 assists. He is second on the squad with 15 steals. Jamille Reynolds is averaging 11.1 points per game. He is averaging 8.1 rebounds per game to lead the team. His 8.1 rebounds per game are tied for 64th in the NCAA and tied for third in the AAC. He is tied for 33rd in the country and third in the conference with 6.40 defensive rebounds per game. He has three double-doubles, which are tied for 62nd in the NCAA and tied for third in the AAC. He has a team-high 11 blocks. He has added 11 assists and three steals. Kasen Jennings closes out the double-digit scorers with 10.7 points per game. He is second on the squad with 27 assists. Brandon Stroud is second on the team with 5.0 rebounds per game. He has a team-high 21 steals. CJ Brown is second on the squad with nine blocks. Kobe Knox is third on the team with 10 steals. He is averaging 9.3 points per game.

Scooter Williams Jr. leads the Lions with 12.3 points per game. He is tied for a team-high 26 assists. With 14 blocks, he is tied for the team lead. He is tied for second on the squad with 13 steals. Khaliq Abdul-Mateen is the only other player in double digits with 10.9 points per game. He has a team-high 16 steals. Josh Taylor leads the team with 4.8 rebounds per game. He is tied for the team lead in blocks with 14. Demarco Bethea is second in rebounding with 4.6 boards per contest. TJ Thomas is tied for a team-best with 26 assists.

About USF Men's Basketball
The University of South Florida men's basketball, led by interim head coach Ben Fletcher, is a member of the American Athletic Conference. The Bulls enter their 2024-25 campaign, presented by Tampa General Hospital, on the heels of their best season in program history, in which they claimed their first-ever regular season conference title, won a record 25 games, and earned a Top 25 ranking for the first time in program history.
