TAMPA, Fla. (February 27, 2024) – The University of South Florida softball team is back on the diamond for a midweek doubleheader with Stetson on Wednesday. The Bulls (10-5) and Hatters (6-8) are scheduled for a 3 p.m. first pitch on ESPN+.
 
Wednesday will be Los Toros night.
 
The Bulls enter the weekend with one of the top pitching staffs in the country. South Florida is tied for 16th in the NCAA with five shutouts, which is third in the AAC. The Bulls are tied for 39th in the country and third in the conference with a team ERA of 2.05. Payton Dixon leads the pitching staff with a 0.95 ERA in 37 innings pitched. Her 0.95 ERA is tied for 52nd in the nation and third in the league. She has 29 strikeouts on the year and her opponents are hitting .202 against her. She bolsters a perfect 5-0 record with two complete-game shutouts. Belle Sardja leads the staff with 30 strikeouts in 47 2/3 innings of work.
 
Offensively, Alanah Rivera leads the team with a .429 batting average. She has a team-best nine RBIs with five runs scored, a double, and a home run. Alexa Galligani boasts a .359 batting average with 39 plate appearances. She paces the team with 14 hits. She is second on the team with three doubles.

The Hatters are coming off a 4-0 weekend where they defeated LIU twice, Green Bay, and Maryland. Kami Eppley leads the offense with a .385 batting average on a team-best 15 hits. She leads the squad with 10 RBIs to go along with six runs scored, two doubles, two triples, and one home run. Madelyn Synoracki is second on the team hitting .382. She has 13 hits, five runs scored, and five RBIs. Addison Foster leads the team with 11 stolen bases, which are tied for 11th in the NCAA and tied for first in the ASUN. She is hitting .289 on the season.
 
The Stetson pitching staff is led by Hannah Marien with a 3-4 record in 48 innings in the circle. She has a team-best 31 strikeouts with a 2.04 ERA. Lauren Hobbs has a 2-2 record with 18 strikeouts in 34 2/3 innings pitched. She has a 4.04 ERA.
