Tampa, Fla. March 28, 2024 – The University of South Florida track and field team travels to Gainesville, Fla., for the Pepsi Florida Relays. The men's team ranks fifth in the nation, with five top-five marks including Goodness Iredia leading the NCAA in triple jump, while the women's team has five top-25 marks.
TRACK
The 100m dash will see Shomari Pettigrew and Zayquan Lincoln compete for the men. Lincoln will try and improve on his current 33rd fastest time in the nation (10.33). The women will race Lynette Scutari.
In the 200m dash, indoor second-team All-American Shevioe Reid and indoor 200m AAC champion Jaleel Croal will run for the men. The women will run Zahria Allers-Liburd, who holds the 23rd fastest time in the nation (23.41), Shaniya Benjamin, and Je'Nyia Burton.
For the 400m dash, South Florida's men will run Tre'Sean Bouie, who is currently fourth in the NCAA (46.07), and Daunte O'Banion who is 25th in the nation (46.78). The women will run Burton, who holds the 28th fastest time in the nation (53.99), indoor 400m AAC champion Terren Peterson, and Amenda Saint-Louis.
In the 800m, the men will race Jesse Benavides and the women Arden La-Rose. The Bulls will have one competitor in the 1500m, Karim Belmahdi. The 5000m will see Tyler Wadsworth run for the men, and Hailey Cohen for the women.
For the men, Michael Bourne III and Tyler Drew will compete in both the 110m hurdles and the 400m hurdles. The women will see Chakiya Plummer in both the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, while Gianna Hansen will compete in only the 100m hurdles.
Both genders will have their full squads for the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay.
The men currently hold the third fastest 4x100m in the nation (39.13) from Lincoln, Nathan Metelus, Croal, and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, as well as the fifth fastest 4x400m relay from Markel Jones, Daunte O'Banion, Metelus, and Bouie.
The women are just as present in the nation's top-25 relay rankings, Allers-Liburd, Peterson, Burton, and Benjamin have the fifth-ranked 4x100m time in the nation (44.06) and the 16th-ranked 4x400m relay time (3:38.02).
FIELD
In the pole vault, the men are sending Kobe Babin (fifth in NCAA, 5.40m/17' 8.50"), Noah Bitter (29th in NCAA, 5.10m/ 16'-8.75"), and Andreas Kreiss. The women will send Ella Dolce and Madeline Dutz.
In high jump, the men are sending Kendell Mosley and Elisha Teneus-Claude, while the women are sending Kendall McDaniel, Molie Jean Baptiste, and Annia Ashley.
In long jump, Goodness Iredia and Teneus-Claude will compete for the men. The women are sending Nischa King and McDaniel to Gainesville to jump.
Only the women will compete in the triple jump, sending Mimansa Dahiya, who sits ranked 19th in the NCAA (12.64m/41'-5.75") and Ashley.
For the Hammer, the men will send Vincent Ugwoke to Gainesville, and the women Aliyah Boothe, Annalee Harbison, and Alexandria Hunter.
In the shot put, the men will have Aidan Marsh throw, while the women will have Hunter and Jazmyn James throw.
Discus will see Marsh and Ugwoke both throw for the men, with James throwing for the women.

The USF track and field men's team won the 2024 Indoor AAC Championship. Romaine Beckford won the 2023 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships in the men's high jump as a Bull. The team has earned 56 All-America selections and at least one All-American in 10 of the last 12 years, including a record eight athletes claiming 11 honors in 2021. Tampa native Shaniya Benjamin set a program record earning three All-American honors during the 2021 outdoor season, while triple jumper Matthew O'Neal, a 2016 graduate, became USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. Bulls have posted two NCAA runner-up finishes since 2013 - O'Neal (triple jump, 2016) and Courtney Anderson (high jump, 2013). Head coach Erik Jenkins took over the program in 2020 and in the 2021 outdoor season the Bulls posted seven program records and 40 top 10 all-time program marks. USF hosted the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary and the 2021 AAC Outdoor Championship at the USF Track and Field Stadium located on the east end of campus.
