USF Men’s Soccer Hosts Tulsa in First Round of American Conference Championship

Bulls enter playoffs as No. 3 seed after nine-win regular season

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 6, 2025 – The University of South Florida men's soccer team (9-2-5, 5-2-1 American) begins postseason play as the No. 3 seed in the 2025 American Conference Championship. The Bulls will host No. 6 seed Tulsa (4-8-4, 3-3-2 American) on Friday, Nov. 7, at Corbett Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET, with live coverage on ESPN+.
 
Setting the Stage
The Bulls clinched the No. 3 seed following a 4-3 road win over Memphis in their regular-season finale on Sunday. Brandon Nyagurungo scored twice, and Asher Jones and Fabio Bozesan each added goals to secure the victory. Bozesan's goal in the 89th minute, assisted by Pedro Faife, secured the win that clinched the No. 3 seed for USF.
 
The winner will advance to face No. 2 seed Florida Atlantic in the semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 3:30 p.m. ET. No. 1 seed Charlotte will host this game and the remainder of the tournament.
 
The Opponent
Tulsa (4-8-4, 3-3-2 American) enters Friday's match after a scoreless draw against Florida Atlantic on Sunday night in Boca Raton. The Golden Hurricane recorded their seventh shutout of the season, the most in the American Conference, and have relied on consistent goalkeeping and a strong defense throughout the year.
 
Note-A-Bulls:
  • Season Matchup – South Florida claimed a 2-1 win over Tulsa earlier this season in Oklahoma.
  • Steady Hands – Goalkeeper Jahiem Wickham leads the conference with 54 saves, averaging 3.38 per game.
  • Leading Scorer – Graduate forward Fabio Bozesan leads USF with eight goals and five assists this season. Bozesan leads the conference in most points overall, with 21 points. He's tied for first in the conference for total goals, and tied for third in assists.

Series History
South Florida and Tulsa have met 17 times since 1999, with the Bulls holding an 11-6-2 advantage. The most recent matchup came earlier this season, on Sept. 21, when the Bulls defeated the Hurricanes 2-1 in Oklahoma.
