TAMPA, Fla., November 6, 2025 – The University of South Florida women's basketball team returns to action Friday night when it hosts Long Island University at 7 p.m. inside the Yuengling Center. The game will stream live on ESPN+ and can be heard locally on Bulls Unlimited.
The Bulls (1-0) are coming off an emphatic 81-56 season-opening win over Florida International on Monday, which gave interim head coach Michele Woods-Baxter her first career victory at the helm for South Florida. Woods-Baxter became just the third coach in program history to win in her head coaching debut, joining Trudi Lacey (1988) and Joanne Rogers (1976).
In Case You Missed It:
Forward L'or Mputu led all scorers with a career-high 20 points and 12 rebounds, notching her seventh career double-double and setting new career marks in free throws made (10) and attempts (11).
Guard Edyn Battle stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Katie Davidson added 14 points and five boards. Forward Fatou Diakite rounded out the Bulls' double-digit scorers with 10 points, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the line.
South Florida now looks to carry that momentum into Friday's matchup with the Sharks (LIU), marking the first meeting between the two programs.
