TAMPA (February 18, 2025)- The University of South Florida's
Agustin Cuellar has been named the AAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
South Florida traveled to Boca Raton this past weekend to face off Florida Atlantic and University of California Santa Barbara in a weekend series. The Bulls pulled off a 4-3 victory against both teams, pushing them to a 7-2 record.
Cuellar was a crucial player in the matches this weekend, providing a win in singles on both days. On Friday, Cuellar earned the clinching point against the FAU Owls with a score of 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 victory on No. 3 Singles. The following day, Cuellar moved up to No. 2 Singles and provided a 6-1, 7-5 win against UCSB to provide the Bulls with their second team point.
Cuellar remains undefeated in singles with a 7-0 record for the 2025 season, primarily playing on Singles 2 and 3. Cuellar also records a 4-2 record in doubles. This is the first time Cuellar has received the honor of AAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
The Bulls will continue playing on the road with a pair of matches in Stockton, California coming up. South Florida will face University of Pacific (2-4) and Oregon (6-2), both teams for the first time in program history.

Head coach Ashley Fisher is in his ninth year at the helm of the program for the 2022-23 season. Fischer has guided the Bulls to four NCAA Tournaments, including three trips to the second round. He was named the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2017 & 2019 after leading USF to the conference title in each of those seasons.
