CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 15, 2025 – The University of South Florida softball team (24-8, 5-1 AAC) completed the series sweep over the Charlotte 49ers (14-15, 2-5 AAC) with a pair of wins on Saturday afternoon in Charlotte. The Bulls took the first game 9-1 before a dominating 12-3 run-rule in game two.

GAME ONE | South Florida 9, Charlotte 1Â
Charlotte had the early threat in the opening frame, loading the bases with one out. A line out to
Karhys Pierce turned into a double play to hold the 49ers scoreless.

Camille Ortiz-Martinez singled in the second inning. Another single from Pierce and a 49ers error put runners in scoring position.
Jamia Nelson cleared the bases with her third home run of the season.

The Bulls added two more to their lead in the following inning.
Alanah Rivera reached on a fielding error by Charlotte's second baseman. Ortiz-Martinez followed in Nelson's footsteps and hit a two-run home run to center field.

The Bulls added to their lead in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly from Rivera. Charlotte got on the board in the sixth inning.

South Florida added three more runs in the seventh inning. Pierce and Nelson started the inning with back-to-back singles and then advanced on stolen bases.
Kathy Garcia-Soto hit an RBI double. She would cross the plate on a sacrifice fly from
Alexa Galligani.

Belle Sardja pitched her 10th complete game of the season. She held the 49ers to seven hits and one run.

GAME TWO | South Florida 12, Charlotte 3 (5 innings)
The Bulls pick up where they left off in game two. Elliott and Galligani started the game with back-to-back walks.
Josie Foreman knocked a bases-clearing double to get the Bulls on the board first. Rivera followed with an RBI double, bringing her seven away from tying Kourtney Salvarola in career doubles. Rivera would cross the plate on an RBI single from Nelson.

The South Florida bats stayed hot, scoring three runs in the second, one in the third, and three in the fourth.

Elliott hit her second triple of the season in the second inning and came home on a double from Galligani.
Alex Wilkes cleared the bases on her sixth home run of the season.

South Florida's lone run in the third inning came on an RBI single from Galligani to bring
DaNia Brooks across the plate.

Back-to-back doubles from Ortiz-Martinez and Nelson added another Bulls run in the fourth inning. A single from Brook and a double from Garcia-Soto brought
Grace Chin, who pinch-ran for Nelson, home. The last run of the inning came off a groundout from Elliott.

The Bulls' 12th run came in the fifth inning on a groundout from Nelson that allowed Pierce to score.

Anne Long earned her eighth start of the season. She pitched 4.2 innings and only allowed three runs.
