USF TO HOST ANNUAL ALUMNI INVITATIONAL TRACK MEET THIS WEEKEND, ESPN+ BROADCAST AVAILABLE

TAMPA, FLA., MARCH 20, 2025 — The University of South Florida track and field program is set to host the USF Alumni Invitational, a two-day competition taking place Friday, March 21, and Saturday, March 22, at the USF Track and Field Stadium. The meet will begin at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Fans and alumni are invited to attend and enjoy an exciting weekend of competition, camaraderie and special events. The USF mascot, Rocky, will be in attendance to engage with fans, and food trucks will be available throughout the weekend. On Friday, March 21, Fully Loaded Food will be on-site offering a variety of options, while on Saturday, March 22, KC's Quesadillas will be available for purchase.

The event will also be a special gathering for USF track and field alumni, who will have access to a dedicated alumni tent featuring refreshments starting at 10 a.m. on Friday. On Saturday, March 22, the tent will open at 11 a.m., with complimentary T-shirts available for alumni while supplies last. 

A special alumni recognition ceremony will take place at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday to honor past Bulls who have contributed to the program's success. Additionally, USF will recognize its senior student-athletes on Saturday, celebrating their hard work and commitment to the program throughout their careers.

Competition will be fierce, with a variety of events taking place Friday, March 21. The day begins with the women's pole vault at 11 a.m., featuring Audrey Wuerffel, Madeline Dutz, Ella Dolce and Ella Galloway. At 12:30 p.m., Aidan Marsh will compete in the men's hammer throw, followed by the women's long jump at 2 p.m., where Tristen Evatt and Nischa King will represent the Bulls. 

The men's shot put at 2 p.m. will feature Aidan Marsh and Jason Nwosu, while Annalee Harbison takes on the women's hammer throw at 3 p.m. The men's pole vault at 4 p.m. will showcase Andreas Kreiss, Nikodem Pochopien and Noah Bitter, with the men's long jump at 4:30 p.m. featuring Javell Brown and Javon Brown. On the track, Madeline Abega will race in the women's 400-meter hurdles at 5 p.m., and Natalie Danner will compete in the women's javelin throw at 5:30 p.m. 

The women's 800-meter run at 5:45 p.m. will feature Amenda Saint Louis, Sydni Studesville and Victoria Valdez, followed by Karim Belmahdi in the men's 800-meter run at 6:10 p.m. 

The women's 200-meter dash at 2:30 p.m. will include Terren Peterson, Malaysia Johnson, Skyler Watts, Lynette Scutari, Amani Kirnon, Doris Quainoo, Gianna Hansen, Nia Richards, Tristen Evatt, Ja'mya Roberson and Tyra Thomas. The men's 200-meter dash at 7:15 p.m. will feature Alexavier Monfries, Nathan Metelus, Jermaine Dyges, Shomari Pettigrew, Isaac Chandra and Michael Bourne III

Closing out the night, Sydney Granack, Hailey Cohen and Catalina Edwards will compete in the women's 5,000-meter run at 7:50 p.m., followed by Sean Perry, John Keester IV and Jackson Dravo in the men's 5,000-meter run at 8:15 p.m.

USF Director of Track and Field and Cross-Country Erik Jenkins expressed his excitement for the event:

The USF Alumni Invitational will feature top-tier competition as the Bulls continue their outdoor season. Fans are encouraged to come out and show their support for the Bulls while enjoying a weekend filled with exciting races, alumni celebrations and great food.

ABOUT USF TRACK AND FIELD 
The USF men's track and field team captured back-to-back American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships in 2024 and 2025 and also claimed the 2024 AAC Outdoor Championship. This past season, 10 Bulls athletes earned All-America honors, including Shevioe Reid, Shaniya Benjamin, Gabriel Moronta, Nathan Metelus, Terren Peterson, Amenda Saint Louis, Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, Goodness Iredia, Zahria Allers-Liburd, and Tre'Sean Bouis. Additionally, Romaine Beckford represented USF by winning the 2023 NCAA indoor and outdoor national titles in the men's high jump.
The Bulls' achievements extended to individual accolades, with Saminu Abdul-Rasheed earning the 2025 Indoor Most Valuable Performer award and Nikodem Pochopien being named Freshman of the Year. The USF coaching staff also received high honors, earning the AAC Indoor Staff of the Year award in both 2024 and 2025. USF boasts a remarkable track record, with 56 All-America selections and at least one All-American honoree in 10 of the past 12 years. In 2021, eight athletes combined for 11 All-America distinctions. Tampa native Shaniya Benjamin set a program milestone by earning three All-America honors during the 2021 outdoor season, while triple jumper Matthew O'Neal, a 2016 graduate, became USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. Since 2013, USF has produced two NCAA runner-up finishes: O'Neal in the triple jump (2016) and Courtney Anderson in the high jump (2013). Head coach Erik Jenkins, who took over in July 2019, has played a key role in the program's success, guiding USF to seven program records and 40 top-10 all-time program marks during the 2021 outdoor season. USF has also hosted major track and field events at its USF Track & Field Stadium, including the 2018 NCAA East Preliminary and the AAC Outdoor Championships in 2021 and 2023.
