USF Softball Welcomes Siena for Midweek Doubleheader Matchup

TAMPA, March 4, 2025 – The University of South Florida softball team (16-6) welcomes the Siena Saints (5-5) for a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday at the USF Softball Stadium. The first game between the Bulls and Saints is set for 4 p.m., followed by the second game at 6:15 p.m. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.  
 
Setting The Stage:
USF is coming off a 3-2 weekend at the Longhorn Invitational, where the Bulls took on No. 1 Texas, New Mexico State, Abilene Christian, and Alabama A&M. The Bulls lost two games against the Longhorns.
 
Series History:
This will be the first meeting between South Florida and Siena.
 
Note-A-Bull:
On Friday, Karhys Pierce became the second true freshman in the last four meetings against the Longhorns to hit a home run. The first was Kathy Garcia-Soto on March 17, 2023.
 
Kathy Garcia-Soto has a conference-leading 53 assists this season. She ranks fifth in the country. The closest conference opponent is North Texas's Cierra Simon, with 47, ranking 23rd. 
 
The Bulls have turned 13 double plays as a team, leading the conference and ranking sixth nationally.
 
Additional Notes:
Belle Sardja earned her first American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honor. This past weekend, she led with two wins and a save.  In 2.1 innings against the No. 1 Longhorns, she held them scoreless and struck out three batters.
