TAMPA (April 1)- The University of South Florida's Elijah Cham has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the week, the league announced on Tuesday. No. 28 South Florida (18-3) played a pair of matches on the road this weekend, facing Charlotte (9-9) on Friday and Liberty University (7-11) on Sunday.

Cham went a combined 3-0, including two singles win and a clinching doubles win. Cham earned a 7-6 (8-6) clinching Point on Doubles 3 to push the Bulls up against the 49ers. Cham continued to win both of his singles courts in straight sets. Cham earned a 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) triumph on Court 3 against Charlotte. Cham continued Sunday with a 6-3, 6-4 victory on Singles 2 against Liberty University.

Cham is on a four-match win streak for singles, with his last three being completed in straight-set wins.

Head coach Ashley Fisher is in his ninth year at the helm of the program for the 2024-25 season. Fischer has guided the Bulls to four NCAA Tournaments, including three trips to the second round. He was named the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2017 & 2019 after leading USF to the conference title in each of those seasons.
