TAMPA, APRIL 8, 2025- The University of South Florida baseball team (19-11; 7-2 AAC) fell to the Stetson Hatters (21-13; 10-2 ASUN) in a mid-week game on Tuesday evening at the USF Baseball Stadium. The Bulls lost with a final score of 3-1.
The visiting Hatters opened the game with a solo home run on the game's second pitch. The Bulls responded in the second inning as
Marcus Brodil hit a single and drove home
Rafael Betancourt to tie the game at one.
Matt Goldenbaum settled in after the opening homerun by Stetson, as he retired the next nine batters he faced.
After Goldenbaum exited, Stetson loaded the bases in the fifth inning. The Hatters reclaimed the lead with two runs coming home.
Sebastian Greico stopped a third run from scoring with a heads-up throw to record the third out of the inning at home.
The Bulls sent six pitchers to the mound. Goldenbaum led with four strikeouts. Of the six pitchers, no one allowed a walk.
