South Florida Women’s Golf is Headed to the Canadian Collegiate Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. (September 21, 2025) – The University of South Florida women's golf team is heading to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to compete in the Canadian Collegiate Invitational, starting this Monday, September 22. The Bulls will be joined by 11 other teams at Beacon Hall Golf Club in Aurora, Ontario.
 
Tiphani Knight, Cherry Marley, Regina Plascencia, Emma Kim, and Alice Webb will represent the Bulls.
 
The individual champion of the tournament will receive an exemption into the LPGA CPKC Open. The top five finishers will receive an exemption for the Canadian Women's Amateur.
 
South Florida will compete against Purdue, Virginia, Kent State, Michigan, Ole Miss, Michigan State, Auburn, Tennessee, Rutgers, Central Michigan, and British Columbia. The Bulls will tee off at 8:30 a.m. ET on holes 1-4.

Tampa native AJ Newell, a former LPGA Tour Player and NCAA All-American, enters her second season as head coach of USF women's golf. In her first season, she coached Leonor Medeiros to the American All-Conference Team. Newell coached the Bulls to four top-10 finishes in the 2024-25 season.
 
Newell took over leadership of the Bulls' program following a successful three-year stint as assistant coach at the University of Michigan, where she helped guide the Wolverines to three straight NCAA Regional appearances, a 2022 Big Ten title, and a trip to the 2022 NCAA Championship Finals.
