TAMPA, Fla., September 25, 2025 — The University of South Florida women's basketball team, presented by Tampa General Hospital, revealed its 2025–26 American Conference schedule Thursday, featuring nine home games at the Yuengling Center and a highly competitive slate of matchups stretching from late December through early March.
USF tips off league play at home on Tuesday, Dec. 30, hosting Rice before welcoming North Texas on Saturday, Jan. 3. The Bulls then hit the road for back-to-back games at UAB (Tuesday, Jan. 6) and Memphis (Saturday, Jan. 10).
The January schedule continues with a return to Tampa for a three-game homestand against UTSA (Tuesday, Jan. 13), Wichita State (Saturday, Jan. 17), and Charlotte (Tuesday, Jan. 27), with road contests at Temple (Tuesday, Jan. 20) and Florida Atlantic (Saturday, Jan. 24) in between.
February brings a balanced mix of home and away action, starting with a trip to East Carolina (Wednesday, Feb. 4) before back-to-back home games against Tulane (Saturday, Feb. 7) and Tulsa (Wednesday, Feb. 11). USF then visits UTSA (Saturday, Feb. 14) and Rice (Tuesday, Feb. 17) before returning to Tampa to host Florida Atlantic (Saturday, Feb. 21) and closing the month at North Texas (Saturday, Feb. 28).
The Bulls wrap up the regular season with a home game against Temple (Tuesday, March 3) and a road finale at Tulane (Saturday, March 7).
USF enters the 2025-26 season after capturing its fourth American Conference championship (with a 23-11 overall record), winning the American Postseason Tournament, and making its 10th NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach
Jose Fernandez.
Fernandez, who enters his 26th season at the helm, led the Bulls to a No. 12 seed in the NCAA Tournament last year, marking the program's 14th consecutive 19-win season and 12th 20-win season under his leadership.
New American Conference Championship Format
Beginning this season, the American Basketball Championship will feature the top 10 teams in a new five-day bracket format. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will advance directly to the semifinals, while the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will maintain byes to the quarterfinals. The No. 5 and No. 6 seeds will receive byes to the second round. The 2026 Championship will run Tuesday through Saturday, March 10-14 at the Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama.
