TAMPA, Fla. – January 12, 2026 — The South Florida Bulls men's basketball program (10-6, 2-1) continues conference play on Wednesday night against ECU (5-11, 0-3) at 7 p.m. at the Yuengling Center.

Program Comparison:
The Bulls enter this game with a KenPom rating of 70, a BPI of 76, and a program record NET ranking of 56.
The Pirates have a KenPom rating of 275, a BPI of 292, and a NET ranking of 303.
South Florida ranks first in the American in nine team stat categories, including points per game (91.1), where they rank No. 13 overall in the NCAA.
ECU ranks No. 12 in the American, averaging 68.4 points per game.
The Bulls are also first in the American Conference in turnover margin (+3.8), steals (10.1), assists (17.6), offensive rebounds (15.6), overall rebounds (43.0), three-point attempts (30.2), and in both free throws attempted (29.2) and made (21.5).
While ECU ranks sixth in the conference in free throw attempts per game (23.3) and fouls per game, averaging 17.1 per contest. Bulls fans can expect ECU to attempt to slow down the Bulls' fast-break attack.
Series History:
Sunday marks the 31st meeting between South Florida and ECU. The last matchup took place on January 25, 2025, when the Bulls narrowly fell 64-55 in Greenville, N.C. The Bulls had won the prior three contests before last season's road loss.
Last Time Out:
South Florida finished a two-game conference road trip at North Texas and Tulsa, going undefeated. The Bulls took down the No. 1-ranked defense and No. 2-ranked offense in the conference to do so.

The Bulls now look to improve to 3-1 in conference play, with their only loss coming to UAB, by a score of 109-106 in 2OT.

- Izaiyah Nelson is No. 2 in the NCAA with 12 double-doubles this season, including an active streak of six straight. The program record is eight in a row.
- Nelson's 63.3 percent field goal percentage also ranks No. 17 in the NCAA, and his 163 rebounds rank No. 16 in the NCAA.
- Wes Enis broke the program record for three's in a game (10) vs. UAB in 49 minutes of game action last week. Two games later at Tulsa, he tied his own record of 10 made threes, this time in just 39 minutes of action.
- Enis ranks No. 9 in the NCAA, averaging 3.57 three-pointers made per game. Joseph Pinion is right behind him at No. 19 with 3.38 per game.
- Josh Omojafo ranks No. 21 in the NCAA with 97 made free throws this season.

South Florida men's basketball named Bryan Hodgson, 37, as the program's 12th head coach on March 24, 2025. Hodgson came to Tampa from Arkansas State, where he led the program to back-to-back 20-win seasons and its first postseason appearance since 1999 in his two seasons at the helm.
The program, entering its 55th season in 2025-26, most recently won the American Athletic Conference regular season championship in 2023-24 and has made 13 postseason appearances, including three NCAA Tournaments, nine NITs, and a CBI championship in 2019. Three former Bulls – Chucky Atkins, Charlie Bradley, and Rodenko Dobras – have had their jerseys retired and are members of the USF Athletic Hall of Fame. The Bulls play their home games at the 10,400-seat Yuengling Center on the USF Tampa campus.
