South Florida looks to bounce back into the win column on Saturday

January 23, 2026

TAMPA, Fla. (January 23, 2026) – The University of South Florida women's basketball team is back on the road for an in-state battle with Florida Atlantic on Saturday, January 24. The Bulls (12-8, 5-2 American) and the Owls (8-11, 2-5 American) are slated for a 2 p.m. tip on ESPN+ and Bulls Unlimited.

Earlier this week, Katie Davidson was named to the American Conference's weekly honorable mention list. She averaged 20.0 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game. She has scored 20 or more points in three of the last four games.

Setting The Stage:
Carla Brito became the 29th player at South Florida to score 1,000 points in her career. The Bulls had five players record at least 10 points and multiple rebounds in their last game against Temple. That tied USF's most in any road game this century, most recently achieved on February 3, 2013, at Pittsburgh.

Series History:
USF and FAU will meet for the 21st time on Saturday. The Bulls lead the overall series 12-8 and have won five of the last six meetings. South Florida swept both meetings last season. The Bulls are 2-5 on the road against the Owls.

Note-A-Bulls:
Against Temple, Carla Brito made five threes, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out four assists. The only other USF player this century to reach those marks in a single game was Leondra Doomes-Stephens on February 28, 2011, against Georgetown.

Stefanie Ingram has two road games this season with at least 10 assists. That ties for the most by any USF player in a season this century, along with Elisa Pinzan (2021-22) and Anedra Gilmore (2003-04). She is one of eight DI players this season with at least 190 points, 100 assists, and 20 made threes. Ingram is the second USF player this century to reach these totals in her first 20 games of a season, along with Elisa Pinzan (2020-21). Ingram has accounted for 36.1 percent of the team's assists this season, the second-highest share in the American and 27th highest among all DI players. The last USF player to finish a season with a higher share was Elisa Pinzan in 2021-22 (36.8%). She has recorded at least two assists in all 20 games this season. That is the longest streak to begin a campaign by any USF player since Elisa Pinzan's 23-game stretch to begin 2020-21. She currently leads the American Conference in 2025-26 with 117 assists and 656 minutes played. The only USF players this century to finish a season ranking in the top 2 of the conference in both categories are Elisa Pinzan (2021-22) and Laia Flores (2017-18).

L'or Mputu is one of five DI players since the beginning of last season to have at least 1,300 minutes played, 8.0 rebounds per game, and a 57.0 field-goal percentage. She is one of four American Conference players this season with at least 60 offensive rebounds and 80 defensive rebounds. The others are Charlotte's Asianae Nicholson, North Texas' Megan Nestor, and Temple's Saniyah Craig.

Edyn Battle has 191 points and 51 assists this season. She is the only player this century to have at least 150 points and 50 assists in 13 career games at USF.

Fatou Diakite has recorded at least 10 points and five rebounds off the bench in five games this season. That is the most by any USF player since Courtney Williams in 2013-14 (seven).

Additional Notes:
USF has a 42.9 three-point percentage in conference play this season, the highest in the American and sixth highest in Division I. The only American Conference team to finish a single conference season with a higher mark was UConn in 2019-20 (43.0%).

USF's active roster has played in a combined 932 games at the Division I level. That is the most among all American Conference teams and the eighth most among all DI teams.

South Florida has had 88.3 percent of its assists this season come from upperclassmen. That is the second-highest share in the American (Wichita State – 99.6) and 38th in DI.

The Bulls have had 10 different players this season with a double-digit scoring game. That is the most in the American and more than USF had all of last season (eight).

The Bulls have 12 players with at least 10 free-throw attempts this season. That is tied for most in Division I, along with seven other schools. South Florida has shot at least 80.0 percent from the free-throw line in eight games this season. That is the second-most in the American Conference, behind Rice (11).
