USF Women’s Basketball Plays First-Place Rice on Tuesday

HOUSTON, FEB. 16, 2026 – South Florida women's basketball (16-10; 9-4 American) will look to extend its three-game winning streak against first-place Rice (22-3; 12-0 American) on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. ET at Tudor Fieldhouse.
 
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Matt Pedersen, Austyn Iven, and Abby Christopherson on the call. It will also available on Bulls Unlimited Digital Radio.
 
The Bulls are in third place in the American Conference standings entering Tuesday's game. Rice is riding a 17-game winning streak.
 
Setting the Stage
South Florida is coming off a 69-63 road win at UTSA on Feb. 14 after earning back-to-back double digit victories against Tulane and Tulsa at the Yuengling Center.
 
Katie Davidson and Edyn Battle each scored a team-high 17 points against UTSA. The Bulls' defense held the Roadrunners to 31% shooting and posted seven blocks.
 
Carla Brito has recorded a double-double in four straight games, including 13 points and 12 rebounds against UTSA. She has six blocks in the last five games.
 
Battle leads the Bulls and ranks fourth in The American in scoring (14.9 PPG) and free throw percentage (.827). Davidson ranks 10th in the conference with 13.0 PPG.
 
South Florida ranks second in The American scoring 72.2 PPG, while Rice leads the conference in scoring defense, allowing just 58.6 PPG.
 
Series History
USF leads the all-time series against Rice, 4-3, but the Owls won the most recent meeting, 70-68, in Tampa on Dec. 30.
 
Note-A-Bulls
Stefanie Ingram leads The American posting 5.8 assists per game and is second in assist to turnover ratio with a 1.8 mark.
 
Brito ranks fourth in The American in rebounding (9.2 RPG), while L'or Mputu is tied for seventh at 8.0 RPG.

South Florida leads The American shooting 44.3 percent from the field and ranks third in three-point percentage (33.2 percent).
 
The Bulls lead the league with 16.56 assists per game and a 1.05 assist-to-turnover ratio.
 
USF ranks third in The American in rebounding pulling down 40.9 boards per game.
