TAMPA, Fla, Feb. 6, 2026 – The University of South Florida track and field team recorded strong performances at the Gainesville Indoor Classic and opened competition Friday at the Windy City Invitational.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Long Jump:
At the Windy City Invitational,
Lilah Versluis claimed first place in the women's long jump with a personal-best mark of 5.79 meters.
Gabriella Keefer followed with a third-place finish (5.66m), while Kenniyah Guishcard-Yearwood placed sixth at 5.52 meters. In the invite section,
Nischa King finished fifth with a jump of 5.62 meters.
Alesandro Cardoso-Williams led the men's invite section at the Windy City Invitational, winning the event with a personal-best leap of 7.59 meters.
Simone Menchini placed fourth (7.29m), and
Elisha Williams finished fifth with a mark of 7.25 meters.
Pole Vault:
At the Windy City Invitational,
Madeline Dutz earned a tied third-place finish in the women's pole vault after clearing 3.65 meters. On the men's side,
Andreas Kreiss placed third with a clearance of 5.07 meters.
600m:
At the Windy City Invitational,
Devontie Archer placed second in the men's 600 meters with a time of 1:19.46.
Sydni Studesville earned second place in the women's 600 meters with a personal-best time of 1:33.22, while
Sasha Salwonchuk added a fourth-place finish in 1:34.33.
400m:
At the Windy City Invitational,
Shevioe Reid finished second in the men's 400m, clocking 46.15 seconds.
5000m:
At the Gainesville Indoor Classic,
Hailey Cohen placed second in the women's 5,000 meters with a time of 17:09.86.

Nikodem Pochopien being named Freshman of the Year. The USF coaching staff also received high honors, earning the AAC Indoor Staff of the Year award in both 2024 and 2025. USF boasts a remarkable track record, with 56 All-America selections and at least one All-American honoree in 10 of the past 12 years. Shaniya Benjamin set a program milestone by earning three All-America honors during the 2021 outdoor season, while triple jumper Matthew O'Neal, a 2016 graduate, became USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. Erik Jenkins, who took over in July 2019, has played a key role in the program's success, guiding USF to seven program records and 40 top-10 all-time program marks during the 2021 outdoor season. USF has also hosted major track and field events at its USF Track & Field Stadium, including the 2018 NCAA East Preliminary and the AAC Outdoor Championships in 2021 and 2023.
