USF Women’s Golf Heads to Gator Invitational

Bulls travel to Gainesville for three-round tournament at Mark Bostick Golf Course

TAMPA, Fla. – March 5, 2026- The University of South Florida women's golf team is on the road to compete in the Gator Invitational starting Friday, March 6. The Bulls will be joined by 13 other teams at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Florida. 

Tiphani Knight, Cherry Marley, Emma Kim, Regina Plascencia, and Holly McLean will represent the Bulls. 

South Florida will compete against Campbell, Clemson, FAU, FGCU, FIU, No. 7 Florida, Georgia Southern, Miami, Michigan, No. 13 North Carolina, No. 25 Oklahoma, South Alabama, and Virginia. The Bulls will start to tee off at 10:10am on Friday. On Sunday, Round 3 will be a shotgun start at 9am.

Mark Bostick Golf Course is a par 70, 6,002 yards. The tournament will consist of three rounds of 18 holes, played Friday through Sunday.

Tampa native AJ Newell, a former LPGA Tour Player and NCAA All-American, enters her second season as head coach of USF women's golf. In her first season, she coached Leonor Medeiros to the American All-Conference Team. Newell coached the Bulls to four top-10 finishes in the 2024-25 season.

Newell took over leadership of the Bulls' program following a successful three-year stint as assistant coach at the University of Michigan, where she helped guide the Wolverines to three straight NCAA Regional appearances, a 2022 Big Ten title, and a trip to the 2022 NCAA Championship Finals.
