South Florida Baseball Rained Out of Game 3 at ECU

The Pirates took the first game of the day, 12-4, and were leading 6-2 in the second matchup

GREENVILLE, N.C. (April 25, 2026) – University of South Florida baseball lost the first game of a doubleheader to ECU. The Bulls (28-14, 7-10 American) fell to the Pirates (27-16-1, 11-6 American), 12-4, and are down 6-2 in the second game, which will resume tomorrow, Sunday, April 26th at 12:00 p.m.
 
ECU took the first game of the day, 12-4. Bradke Lohry had two hits for doubles and two runs. Matt Rose had two hits and two RBIs. Jevin Relaford went four for five, and Lane Trippel three for five. Trippel extended his reach base streak to 25 games.
 
Kaden Smith started on the mound for the Bulls and received the loss. He is now 4-2 on the season. He threw 2.2 innings, recording two strikeouts while giving up two walks, six hits, and seven runs, just two of them earned. Dominic Pontbriant, Brisen Tweedy, and Will Allen all made appearances for the Bulls.
 
Jackson Mirza hit his first collegiate triple in the second game of the day and earned an RBI with it. He would then score on a sacrifice fly, hit by Santiago Carriles, as the Bulls continue to lead the nation in sacrifice flies.
 
With rain stopping play in the third inning, the Pirates lead the Bulls 6-2 in Game 3 of the series. The game will resume tomorrow, April 26th, at 12:00 p.m.
 
Notables:
Lance Trippel went three for five and extended his reached-base streak to 25 games.
Bradke Lohry had two doubles in the first game.
Matt Rose had two hits and two RBIs.
Jevin Relaford went four for five.
Kaden Smith is now 4-2 on the season.
