South Florida Baseball to Host FGCU Two Weeks after Beating them on the Road

The Bulls are coming off a conference series victory against Memphis.

TAMPA, Fla. (April 6, 2026) – University of South Florida baseball beat FGCU 7-3 just two weeks ago down in Fort Myers. This week, the Bulls (24-8, 5-4 American) host the Eagles (20-11, 6-5 ASUN) in Tampa for a midweek matchup.
 
The Bulls dominated the game down south, owning a 7-0 lead through seven innings. The Eagles scored three in the eighth. Eli Thomas was a key bat for South Florida, going two for four with two RBIs. Ryan Pruitt also had two RBIs on the night. It was a bullpen game for the Bulls, with Jonah Sarabia getting the win and Ethan Sutton a save.
 
Setting The Stage:
South Florida took its second conference series, defeating the Memphis Tigers 2-1. The Bulls took Games 1 and 3, 10-1 and 5-0, and Memphis took Game 2, 7-4. FGCU lost a three-game ASUN series against West Georgia, 2-1. The Eagles took Game 3, 6-2, and lost Games 1 and 2, 9-4, 9-6. South Florida is currently fourth in the American, and FGCU is third in the Graphite Division of the ASUN.
 
Series History:
The all-time series record is in favor of the Eagles, 22-11. The Bulls took the game two weeks ago and are currently on a three-game winning streak against FGCU. That has tied the longest winning streak South Florida has ever had against FGCU, and the Bulls will look to break the record. At home in Tampa, the Bulls are 3-13 against the Eagles.
