USF Track and Field: Two Relays and Croal Qualify for Nationals on the Third Day of the NCAA East First Rounds

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 29, 2026) – Two South Florida men's track and field relay teams and Jaleel Croal qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championship on Friday during the third day of the NCAA East First Rounds at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track and Field Facility in Lexington, Kentucky.
Relays
Shomari Pettigrew, Jaleel Croal, Alexavier Monfries, and Nathan Metelus won their heat of the 4x100m relay to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, posting a time of 38.45 to finish third overall.
South Florida's 4x100m team advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the fourth consecutive season.
Markel Jones, Monfries, Metelus, and Devontie Archer finished in 10th place to punch their ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a time of 3:02.71.
USF will look to defend its NCAA title after winning the event last season with a school-record time of 3:00.42.
Sprints
Croal qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 200m for the third straight season, finishing 10th with a time of 20.41.
Kelsey Singleton placed 21st in the 400m with a time of 45.79.
Hurdles
Darian Mills posted a 400m hurdles time of 50.47 to place 16th, while Joshua Crum finished 19th in 50.92.

Three Bulls will compete Saturday for spots at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Lilah Versluis will compete in the high jump at 2:00 p.m. Versluis and Zayin Roe will lace up for the triple jump at 6:00 p.m. and Doris Quainoo will race in the 100m hurdles at 6:15 p.m.
