Calendar Years
Student-athletes have four (4) seasons of eligibility within five (5) consecutive calendar years from the date of their first term of full-time enrollment.
Academic Eligibility Standards
Credit Hour Requirements
Must be enrolled full-time in a minimum of 12 credit hours during each term in the academic year.
Must earn a minimum of 18 credit hours during the regular academic year.
Must earn a minimum of 24 credit hours prior to the start of every academic year.
Must earn a minimum of 6 credit hours during the previous regular academic term.
GPA & Degree Progress Requirements
Earn at least a 1.8 GPA prior to the beginning of their third semester of full-time enrollment.
Designate a degree program prior to the beginning of their fifth semester of full-time enrollment.
Complete at least 40% of designated degree program and maintain at least a 1.9 GPA entering their fifth semester.
Complete at least 60% of designated degree program and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA entering their seventh semester.
Complete at least 80% of designated degree program and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA entering their ninth semester.
Football — Additional Requirements
Earn 9 credit hours or earn the Academic Progress Rate (APR) eligibility point during each fall term of enrollment.
Football student-athletes who fail to meet the 9 credit hour or APR requirement must sit out the first 4 games of the following season.
A student-athlete may regain eligibility for those four games by successfully completing 27 hours prior to the beginning of the next fall — available as a one-time exception during their playing career.
