Sports Wagering - RISK + REWARD = VIOLATION
Applies to any sport, at any level, that is sponsored by the NCAA, and includes amateur, intercollegiate and pro games.
Examples of impermissible gambling includes fantasy leagues, Super Bowl/bracket pools, and friendly bets.
Violations include:
- Accepting or placing a bet for any value (e.g., food, clothes, money)
- Providing insider information (e.g. plays, strategy, injuries)
- Point-shaving
- Participating in pools or fantasy leagues with entry fees
