Seasons of Eligibility
Student-athletes have four (4) seasons of eligibility with five (5) consecutive calendar years of their first term of full-term enrollment.
Academic Eligibility Standards
To be eligible to participate in intercollegiate athletics, student-athletes are required to meet NCAA academic requirements by meeting the following:
- Must be enrolled full-time in a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours during each term in the academic year.
- Must earn a minimum of eighteen (18) credit hours during the regular academic year.
- Must earn a minimum of twenty (24) credit hours prior to the start of the every academic year.
- Must earn a minimum of six (6) credit hours during the previous regular academic term.
Additionally, student-athletes must:
- Earn at least a 1.8 grade-point average prior to the beginning of their third semester of full-time enrollment.
- Designate a degree program prior to the beginning of their fifth semester of full-time enrollment.
- Complete at least 40% of designated degree program and maintain at least a 1.9 grade-point average entering into their fifth semester of full-time enrollment.
- Complete at least 60% of designated degree program and maintain at least a 2.0 grade point-average entering into their seventh semester of full-time enrollment.
- Complete at least 80% of designated degree program and maintain at least a 2.0 grade point-average entering into their ninth semester of full-time enrollment.
Football student-athletes must meet the additional requirements:
- Earn nine (9) credit hours or earn the Academic Progress Rate (APR) eligibility point for the fall term during each fall term of enrollment.
- Football student-athletes that fail to meet the nine (9) credit hour or APR requirement must sit out during the first four (4) games during the following season.
- A student-athlete may regain eligibility for the four games of the next season by successfully completing twenty-seven (27) hours prior to the beginning of the next fall as a one-time exception during the student-athletes playing career.
