TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Demario Eddins and Lawrence Kinnard each scored 13 points, and Marvett McDonald added 11 to lead UAB past USF 59-47 Friday.
UAB (8-3) outscored USF 33-3 off turnovers and 21-2 off the bench en route to its fourth consecutive victory.
James Holmes scored 18 points and Melvin Buckley had 13 for USF (6-7), which has dropped four of its last five games. Teammate Solomon Jones contributed 15 rebounds, 10 points and blocked five shots.
USF dominated early in both halves before losing momentum. The team owned a 10-2 lead five minutes into the game, but collected only seven more points on the way to a 31-17 halftime deficit.
USF scored the first nine points after the break, but Alabama-Birmingham regrouped and built a lead that peaked at 17 with three minutes to go.
