(February 24, 2006) Auburn, Ala. -- Playing the 36th ranked Auburn team on the road should be challenging enough. But that was only half the problem for USF, who played without top singles player Dirk Britzen and Marc Jager, who both had a bout of food poisoning, leading to a 6-1 Auburn win this afternoon at the Luther Young Tennis Complex.
USF's lone point came at number six singles, where Mark Gattiker won in straight sets over Terence Nugent. USF also won one of the two doubles matches, but gave up the point since the Bulls could not field a third doubles team.
USF plays at Miami Sunday at Noon.
