GAINESVILLE, Fla. (September 16, 2006) ? The No. 18 ranked doubles team of Shadisha Robinson and Gabriela Duch remains undefeated through the second day of action at the Gator Fall Classic. The team opened action Friday, setting down the No. 25 ranked team of Daniela Bereck and Elizabeth Plotkin of Duke, 8-4, and continued the excellent play Saturday, by upsetting No. 7 Audra Cohen and Laura Vallerdu of Miami, 8-6.
The Bulls did not fair as well in singles play however, as the team only managed two wins in each day of play so far. No. 43 Courtney Vernon took down No. 71 Audrey Banada of Miami in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7) on Friday, while teammate Iciri Rai defeated Emily Mowery, also of Miami, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-5).
In Saturday's early action, Vernon retired No. 81Whitney Benik of Florida 7-6, 6-2 and No. 72 Robinson defeated UF's No. 111 Alex Liles, 7-5, 7-5.
Action will conclude Sunday morning.
