TAMPA?The University of South Florida women's golf team is preparing to host its home tournament in Bradenton, Fla. at the par 72, 5962-yard Waterlefe Golf and River Club. The three-round tournament begins Monday, Oct. 6, where golfers will play 36 holes, beginning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The final round will be played Tuesday, Oct. 7, also with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
"I am thankful to Waterlefe for all of the hard work they have put in to the preparation of this event,” said USF head coach Marci Kornegay. “I know it will be a first class event."
The 16-team field includes Bethune-Cookman, Campbell University, Coastal Carolina, Daytona State College, Florida Atlantic University, Florida International University, Grand Valley State University, Kennesaw State University, McNeese State University, Nova Southeastern, Stetson University, University of Akron, University of Alabama-Birmingham, University of South Alabama, Troy University and USF.
"Waterlefe is such a good test of patience and precision,” said Kornegay. “Pars are special on this course and birdies are a rarity. I am excited about the direction this team is going especially coming off a top-five finish in Kansas."

The remaining four players on USF's roster will be competing as individuals. They include junior
Carolina Romero and sophomores Emily VanEtten,
Megan Riley and
Michelle Bermudez.
