TAMPA - The University of South Florida men's and women's track and field teams combined for 36 personal bests and 43 BIG EAST qualifying marks en route to 17 first-place finishes at the USF Collegiate Invitational on Friday afternoon at the USF Track & Field Stadium. The women's team posted 26 BIG EAST marks and 31 personal bests, while the men's team had 17 BIG EAST marks and five personal bests.

For the men's team, senior Antillio Bastian impressed in the sprints as he posted a BIG EAST mark and personal record, finishing the race in 10.49, placing first. Bastian also achieved a personal best in the long jump after a leap of 23-08.75.

Sophomore Neaman Wise took first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.79 and freshman Camilo Calderon placed second with a time of 53.02, which was good enough for a personal best. Other top performers on the men's side were Shane Lewis, who set a personal best in the triple jump with a leap of 50-2 and Pascal Orelus, who finished second in the 400-meter dash after running a 47.84.

On the women's side, sophomore Monique Williams set a personal best in the 100 meters in winning the event with a time of 11.99. She also won the long jump and finished second in the triple jump, setting BIG EAST marks in both events.

Sophomore Ena Johnson won the 100-meter hurdles and finished second in the 400-meter hurdles. Both times were BIG EAST qualifying marks. Sophomore Rachael James set two personal bests and BIG EAST marks in the 200 and 400 meters, placing second in both events.

The pole vaulters had another strong performance on the women's side, taking the top three spots with Denise von Eynatten winning the event with a jump of 13-9.25, while seniors Stephanie Duffy and Dana Webb finished second and third, respectively.

Casey Wagner continued her dominance in the javelin by placing first with a throw of 142-4. Lauren Noe won the discus, while setting another BIG EAST mark of 149-01 feet.

The Bulls will travel to Austin, Texas for their next meet where they will take part in famed Texas Relays on April 6-9.
